Winter Park Real Estate

Nestled along the western slope of the Continental Divide just off of U.S. Highway 40, Winter Park, Colorado is a gorgeous setting for the scenic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Winter Park encounters thousands of visitors looking to take part in exciting outdoor activities as well as its own unique charm. But not just a ski town, Winter Park also is the home to various boutiques in the town center and gives residents opportunities to kick back and relax year-round. With so much to offer, it’s no surprise Winter Park Real Estate is in such high demand.

Found in the awe-inspiring peaks of the Rocky Mountains, Winter Park is just a short 90-minute drive west of Denver’s skyline. Commonly referred to as “Colorado’s Highest,” Winter Park has the highest elevation of any incorporated town in the United States at 12,060 feet above sea level. Though the year-round population is typically less than a thousand people, Winter Park encounters many fresh faces each year with vacationers eager to hit the slopes and enjoy the picturesque scenery surrounding the cozy mountain town.

Winter Park first began as two settlements, Old Town and Hideaway Park. Old Town sprouted up during the construction of the Moffat Tunnel and Hideaway Park came from the mindset of local merchant “Doc” Graves in 1922. Though the Great Depression burdened the rest of the country, Graves’ village prospered with the construction of tourist cabins, a café and service station. Primarily a getaway location for vacationers, Winter Park was officially founded on August 1, 1978. Since it’s founding, Winter Park has grown in size and population with incorporating neighboring villages as well as gaining notoriety for its ski slopes and outdoor activities.

Home to the Winter Park Ski Resort, thousands find their way to the 3,060 skiable acres during winter months. But much more than a ski town, Winter Park boasts some of the most enjoyable mountain biking trails in the Rockies. For the outdoors type, trophy fly-fishing is also found winding throughout Winter Park’s crystal clear mountain streams. Whatever someone might be after, it’s obvious Winter Park has many things to enjoy.

With so much to offer, Winter Park real estate is becoming highly sought after. Whether it’s hitting the slopes or the charming town center boutiques, the quaint mountain town brings a unique atmosphere surrounded by nature’s beauty. But not just activity filled, Winter Park is the perfect backdrop to simply relax and escape the everyday hustle and congestion found in the city. With its mountain peaks and sprawling wildlife, Winter Park offers its residents a remote and scenic getaway that is truly a hidden treasure.
